Even at 44°C, Rahul charms Sirsa

SIRSA: With the sun beating down at 44° celsius, many in the crowd thronging to have a look at Rahul Gandhi thought the Congress general secretary will cut it short. Instead, the Gandhi scion not only went the whole hog in this fag end of campaigning, but unleashed his charm like never before.

Giving his security guards some nervous moments, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Friday got down from his secured vehicle as he made the rounds of Sirsa and at one point even shared a glass of milk with an onlooker. Minutes later, Rahul Gandhi floored a girl as he grabbed her cellphone, turned it on himself and clicked a photo for her.

Here to garner support for the party’s candidate Ashok Tanwar,  Rahul Gandhi went an extra mile to woo voters for the young Dalit nominee.

Even as speakers like Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda,  AICC general secretary Prith Raj Chauhan and Tanwar projected him as the ‘‘future of India’’, Rahul Gandhi said.
